2012 Rolling Thunder Ride for FreedomMay 27, 2012 in Washington, DC250,000 motorcycles roar into our nations capital during Memorial Day weekend. Rolling Thunder XXV, 25th Anniversary Ride for Freedom The purpose of the Rolling Thunder Ride is to raise awareness of the POW-MIA issue and to promote healing for vets. A number of POW/MIA organizations work year round to push for legislation and action, educate the public, help search for missing vets, and lend support to veterans and their families. All Supporters Welcome! You Do Not Have To Be A Member of Rolling Thunder to Ride! The main event on May 27th is supported by dozens of other rides that meet up in DC. Riders from as far away as California make it a cross country trek to participate. Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is a non-profit organization. Members donate their time because they believe in the issues we are working on.
