Ascot Flat Track Reunion 2012May 12, 2012 in Pomona, CaliforniaWhile Ascot Park Raceway has been gone for many years, the remarkable memories and allure connected with this hallowed ground of speed remain. To celebrate all that was Ascot, the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California is offering it's spacious facility so everyone can enjoy race bikes on display, and meet Ascot Half-mile, TT, and short track riders from the 1950's - 1990's. Bring your own Class C race bike or memorabilia from that era to display in the Museums expo area. There will be no judging or awards, just a lot of Ascot bench racing and a chance to meet the men and machines that made history. The Grand Marshall is Sammy Tanner. He won 408 AMA events! (proceeds are split 50/50 between the museum and The Aid For Injured Riders Fund) Mere mention of the name Ascot Park still evokes a time when hotly contested Friday night flat track racing was a way of life for thousands of riders, tuners, and fans.
