Imola Race Track "Autodrome Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari" was built in 1950. Since then, every kind of competition has been held there. The area by Imola is home to several racing car manufacturers - namely Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. Following the Second World War, the town launched a program to try to improve the local economy. Four local motor racing enthusiasts proposed the construction of a new road linking existing public roads, which was used by the local car manufacturers to test their prototypes. Construction began in March 1950. The first test run took place two years later when Enzo Ferrari sent a car to the track. In April 1953, the first motorcycle races took place at Imola.


During the World Superbike of Imola, there are no numbered seats. Seating is on a first come, first serve base.

The Finish grandstand, Partenza M, is the only covered grandstand at the Autodromo Imola.

Car and motorbike parking is available at the circuit.

There are no specific arrangements for handicapped visitors. Please contact us if you need specific information.

The Imola circuit is located near the town of Imola, 40 km. east of Bologna. The nearest airport to the circuit is the G. Marconi International Airport in Bologna. Note that this airport does not serve many destinations, so you can also fly to Fiumicino International Airport in Rome and take a domestic flight there to Bologna.

From Bologna Airport, you can take the Aerobus to Bologna Central Station and take a train there to Imola. It is also possible to travel by taxi or airport shuttle service. Inform with your travel agency whether you can use the shuttle service. Taxis are an easy way of travelling in Italy; the cheapest ones are either white or yellow. It is also possible to rent a car at both airports or do this online by clicking here. Do note the 4 hour drive if you travel from Rome.

If you travel by car from Bologna, follow highway A14 towards Ancona and take exit Imola. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout towards SP610 direction Rimini/Bologna. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout towards SS9 and follow this road. Turn right at Viale dei Colli and follow the signs to circuit Imola. This journey will take about 40 minutes.

If you travel by car from Rome, take the driveway toward A24 and turn right on A1 towards Firenze (Florence). Take the exit towards A14 direction Bologna and take exit Imola. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout towards SP610 direction Rimini/Bologna. Take the 3rd exit on the roundabout towards SS9 and follow this road. Turn right at Viale dei Colli and follow the signs to circuit Imola.

Accommodation
There are not many hotels to find in Imola. For your stay near circuit Imola, you can book a hotel in Imola or one of the nearby villages. You an also choose to stay in Bologna. Bologna is not far from Imola and has many hotels to offer.
