Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show

Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show
January 29, 2011
Frost Park 300 NE 2 Street
Dania Beach, FL

In the classic movie, “The Great Escape”, Steve McQueen
escapes by jumping a fence on a 1961 Triumph motorcycle and Marlon Brando terrorizes a small town on a 1951 Triumph Thunderbird. At the 4th annual Dania Beach Vintage Motorcycle Show, you will be able to see bikes like these plus over 100 other machines from Italy, Germany, England, Japan and even a rare
“Nimbus” with a sidecar from Denmark.

This year’s show presented by the Sunshine Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America, will be held at Frost Park on Saturday, January 30th from 10am to 4pm with an award’s ceremony capping off the day. The free event hosted by Mac’s Towing, allows you to walk among the bikes and meet the owners while enjoying music, shopping among the vendors and food from the Lion’s Club.

Throughout the day, the Dania Beach Optimist Club will have kid’s bicycle safety games and at 2pm, motorcycle field games that are open to all bikes of all years, will begin. A precision motorcycle drill team will show off their skills to top off the entertainment.

As in years past, the show has donated money to a good cause with this year’s being the Dania Beach Dog Park Project. Proceeds from raffle tickets for prizes donated by our sponsors and a 50/50 drawing will go directly to buying equipment for the project to be located at Patrick J. Meli Park. (And for those without a pooch, doggie adoptions will be available at the show.)

An added feature this year is the “People’s Choice” award, with the attendees voting for their favorite. At the awards ceremony over 50 plaques will be awarded in such classes as most unique, oldest, best restored, longest ridden and best in show (last year’s winner was a 1911 Flying Merkel). Other bikes winning at the third annual show were a 1937 Indian Chief, 1949 Mondial, 1937 Ariel Square Four, and a 1957 Ducati.
